Lessons/Projects: intro to design & creative thinking!

This class is all about thinking...solving problems in a visual manner. You will be asked to THINK, constantly push yourself INTELLECTUALLY and CREATIVELY. Below are some of the subjects and projects that will be incorporated into this class. Please keep All of your projects/work in a MULTI-MEDIA folder placed on your destop!

2) Intro to Adobe illustrator and the Elements of Art...6 Box Design/ Positive & Negative line

3) Piet Mondrian: Intro Adobe Illustrator-Line, Fill, Distort

4) Intro to line ( Portfolio Cover using basics shapes, typography, color, and the "Blend Tool")

5) Intro to Symmetrical/Asymmetrical Design ( Bookmark Design)Illustrator/Typography, Design Elements

6) Color Theory..."Organic" Color wheel AND Monochromatic Portrait Tryptic

7) Intro to Typography: History and Fonts ( Type as "Art") Type Composition/Design Project

8) Vormator: Learning the " Pen Tool", "Creative Problem Solving through Illustration"

9) M.C. Escher Tesselation design/Illustration

10)Intro to Perspective (1pt. & 2Pt.) 1 pt. persepctive project

11) Word Art: Illustration and Typography ( Negative Space, Typography, Illustration)

13) Logos, Letterheads and Business cards: The Art of Layout

14) Typographic BioPoster (Who R U?) Illustration, Design, Typography 

15) Intro to Photoshop: Collage Practice ( Layers, Masks, Filters)

17) PSA Poster ( Substance Abuse, Texting, Eating Disorders, etc.)

18) Multimedia-Zoo ( Photoshop,Masks,Filters, etc. Illustrator...Layout, Design, and Writing)

19) Movie Poster Design. Festival Poster, or PSA Poster ( Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator )

These are just a few of the projects you will be working on. As the year progresses and we learn more, we will find more projects that will challenge us creatively. 

 

 

Your grade will be based upon

how well you follow directions, your daily work ethic, and meeting deadlines!
